UAE businesswomen continue to achieve great things that contribute to strengthening the national economy while providing innovative solutions to their communities. According to the latest report from the Emirates Business Women Council, 18% of all entrepreneurs in the UAE are women businesswomen.
The report also noted that of these women, 48.8% serve as directors and 61.4% personally own their own businesses. Notably, 77.6% of women-owned businesses are run by women under the age of 40, reflecting the vital role women play in revitalizing the nation’s economy.
Thanks to government and society support, the number of businesswomen in the UAE has steadily increased in recent years, strengthening the country’s position as a pioneer in women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in the business sector.

The report further revealed that more than 2,000 new businesses were established and registered by UAE women entrepreneurs in the first half of 2024, accounting for approximately 2% of the total new business registrations in the UAE during the same period.

Technology helps women participate
To support female entrepreneurs across the UAE, a group of women has launched an innovative digital platform that provides consultancy and financing services for women-led projects, using artificial intelligence to analyse data and provide recommendations.
Additionally, another group of businesswomen introduced a new smart application to help manage small and medium-sized businesses, providing comprehensive solutions for digital marketing and talent management.
The report added that businesswomen across the UAE continue to excel in launching innovative projects in renewable energy and environmental sustainability, including rooftop solar power generation for residential and commercial buildings and the founding of an AED200 million investment startup specializing in remote medical services using virtual reality technology.
Women entrepreneurs have also launched an e-commerce platform that connects local artisans and designers with the global market, which has achieved revenue of over AED 150 million in its first year of operation.
